After entering the electric vehicle segment with the S1 and S1 pro electric scooters, Ola electric has announced that it will debut its first electric car by the end of 2023.

After opening its act with the S1 and S1 Pro electric scooter in India, Ola is preparing to debut its first electric four-wheeler in India next. The company is expected to commence production of the car by the end of 2023. The upcoming car is speculated to be a compact hatchback for intra-city use. However, a recent image that was tweeted by the company's CEO Bhavish Aggarwal shows a few blurred design mock-ups of a bigger car.

A while back, Ola electric had confirmed the speculations after Aggarwal tweeted an early image of a design render of a hatchback with an Ola badge on its nose and wheel hubs. The car had four flush-fitting doors, aero-optimised wheels, a blacked-out roof, and a glass area extending to the nose, along with an LED bar spanning the width of the car.

Reports citing sources close to the matter suggest that the upcoming car will use a bigger 70 – 80kWh battery. To put things into perspective, the Tata Nexon EV Max is powered by a 40.5kWh battery, which yields a claimed range of 437km on a full charge, and the MG ZS EV’s 50.3kWh battery offers a claimed range of 461km. The  Kia EV6’s 77kWh battery can offer up to 528km, while an Audi e-tron 55’s 95kWh battery gives it a claimed range of 484km.
