In recent years, the midsize SUV market has seen tremendous growth, and a majority of the five-seaters have given birth to their three-row siblings. Further, the growing demand for SUVs has compelled a range of auto manufacturers to introduce a slew of new models in the country. We have seen Maruti Suzuki and Toyota enter the midsize SUV category last year, while Volkswagen and Skoda also launched the Taigun and the Kushaq in the country, respectively. Multiple new midsize SUVs will be available in our market in 2023 and 2024. We've compiled a list of all the upcoming midsize SUVs that are set to hit the market soon. The list includes models from carmakers such as Honda, Kia, Tata Motors, Hyundai, Citroen, Renault, and Nissan.
2023 Kia Seltos
Kia, the Korean automaker, intends to launch the new Seltos in the country by mid-2023. The facelifted Kia Seltos has already been spied testing on Indian roads. It is available in a few overseas markets. The new model will have a revised design and an upgraded interior, as well as a new turbo petrol engine. It will have a completely new front fascia with a revised grille and new headlamps. The SUV's interior will be updated with new upholstery, a larger infotainment screen, and a new instrument console. It will also include ADAS technology such as adaptive cruise control, autonomous emergency braking, blind spot monitoring, lane keep assist, lane departure assist, and other features. Additionally, instead of the 1.4-litre turbo-petrol engine, it will have a new 1.5-litre 4-cylinder turbo-petrol engine, capable of delivering 158bhp of maximum power.

The new Tucson will serve as an inspiration for the front design, which will include a new parametric grille, rectangular headlamps with LED DRLs, and a slimmer, wider air inlet. The SUV's rear features sharper taillights, a slightly modified boot lid, and an updated bumper. The SUV will also get ADAS, which includes features like rear cross-traffic collision avoidance assistance, blind spot monitoring, lane keep assist, adaptive cruise control, and autonomous emergency braking with forward collision avoidance.
New Honda HR-V
By mid-2023, Honda plans to bring a completely new midsize SUV to the market. The new model is slated to make its debut during the summer of 2023, which falls between April and May. It will compete with cars like the Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara, the Toyota Hyryder, the VW Taigun, the Hyundai Creta, the Kia Seltos, and the MG Astor. It will borrow design elements from larger Honda SUVs, such as the brand-new CR-V and the HR-V. It will have a roofline resembling a coupe, as seen on the latest HR-V.
New-gen Renault Duster
Renault has announced that the all-new Duster SUV will be available in our market between 2024-25. The SUV will be built on the heavily localised CMF-B platform, which will also serve as the foundation for Nissan's new 7-seater SUV for India. The Dacia Bigster concept, which will go into production in 2024–25, will influence the styling of the new Duster. The size of the new model will be expanded, and the cabin consequently will have more room. Along with that, it will have contemporary features like a bigger touchscreen infotainment screen, wireless phone charging, a digital driver display, a sunroof, and others. An optional 1.2-litre turbo-petrol engine with 48V hybrid technology may be offered with the new Duster. The SUV could also get a 1.3-litre turbocharged petrol engine. It will also come equipped with AWD.
Brand-new Tata Curvv
At the 2023 Auto Expo, Tata Motors displayed the Curvv SUV Coupe concept with a petrol engine option. It is built on Tata's newest GEN 2 platform, which is essentially an ALFA platform that has been extensively modified. Powertrain options for the new model include both ICE and electric. The manufacturer has confirmed that the model will be launched next year once it is ready for production. It will be propelled by a brand-new 1.2-litre 3-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine that has a maximum torque of 225Nm between 1,700 and 3,500rpm and 123bhp of power at 5,000rpm. It is anticipated that both a dual-clutch automatic and a 6-speed manual transmission will be available.
Nissan Midsize SUV
Given that Nissan's Indian lineup as of now only includes the Magnite compact SUV, the Nissan-badged version of the Renault Duster is also likely to arrive in the market. Nissan will introduce models like the latest generation global X-Trail before the midsize SUV.

Citroen C3 Aircross
The Citroen C3 Aircross will sit above the existing C3 compact hatchback and compete with models such as the Hyundai Creta and the Kia Seltos. It has the eccentric style for which the French company is known and is anticipated to be about 4.3 metres long overall. It will be available with a small-capacity petrol turbocharged engine.
