MG is all set to launch the updated version of its first model in India.
MG will launch the updated Hector this festive season. A few days after revealing the new 14-inch touchscreen system of the upcoming car, the company has now given a glimpse of the front end of the updated car.
The darkened teaser image shows a new front end, which is dominated by a large 'Argyle-inspired' diamond-mesh grille, embellished with chrome at the top. The Hector has been spotted ahead of this, wearing a heavy disguise, which confirms that the company has tweaked the design of the front bumpers and headlights.
Speaking of spy shots, the Hector was spotted with the same alloy design as before. Meanwhile, on the inside, the car gets a new 14-inch touchscreen infotainment system, which is the largest of any car in India. The previous teaser also showed that the car comes with a revised dashboard design featuring new horizontal AC vents.
The changes to the car will not be limited to just cosmetic updates and the 14-inch touchscreen infotainment system. Like its stablemates, the Hector is also expected to get the brand’s Advanced Driver Assistance System. This means that the Hector will be loaded to the brim in terms of safety features, with lane-keep-assist, blind spot detection, rear cross-traffic alert, forward collision warning, and lane departure warning.
There will be no changes in terms of powertrain options, and the Hector will retain the two 143hp 1.5-litre petrol engines – one with mild-hybrid technology – a 170hp 2.0-litre turbo-diesel unit, two 143hp 1.5-litre petrol engines – one with mild-hybrid technology – and a 170hp 2.0-litre turbo-diesel unit.
We expect all of these changes to come at a premium of Rs 1.5 to 2.0 lakh over the current model. The brand is also likely to update the Hector Plus.
