Mahindra, the leading homegrown auto major, plans to introduce several new models in India in the upcoming year. These would entail some much-needed facelifts as well as the long-awaited release of a few completely new products. In 2023, the brand prioritised increasing its SUV manufacturing capacity to clear the backlog of unfulfilled orders for its currently well-liked models, such as the XUV700 and the Scorpio N. Now, modifications are anticipated for the highly popular XUV700 and XUV300 SUVs, which were due to receive facelifts given that their competitors have recently made significant advancements when it comes to the feature set and contemporary design elements. Not only this, the carmaker will also roll out several electrified models, the most anticipated being the Mahindra XUV.e8. For the uninitiated, the XUV.e8 is a huge e-SUV built on the same platform as the XUV700. So, without any further ado, let's take a detailed look at the Mahindra cars that will go on sale in 2024.

Mahindra Thar 5-Door
One of the most eagerly awaited 2024 launches is the Mahindra Thar 5-door. Numerous sightings of the SUV test mule have disclosed various elements, including an LED lighting arrangement and a fixed metal top with a sunroof. The engine options for Mahindra's upcoming Thar are probably going to be the same as those of its 3-door version: a 2.0-litre turbo-petrol and a 2.2-litre diesel engine, albeit tuned slightly differently. The former unit produces 150bhp of maximum power and 300-320Nm of peak torque, whereas the latter belts out 130bhp and 300Nm of torque. For both engines, there will be manual and automatic transmission options. Moreover, the Mahindra SUV is probably going to be available with both four-wheel drive (4WD) and rear-wheel drive (RWD).
The projected feature list includes a 10-inch touchscreen infotainment unit, connected car technology, a more comfortable front armrest, a redesigned steering wheel, and roof-mounted speakers. Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) could increase the price of the vehicle, however, some buyers might find this feature desirable. Cruise control, rear AC vents, a digital instrument panel, and dual-zone climate control are possible added conveniences. Upon launch, the new Mahindra off-roader is expected to retail for between Rs 15 lakh and Rs 18 lakh (both prices, ex-showroom).
Mahindra XUV400 Facelift
The Mahindra XUV400 EV is expected to receive a facelift that corresponds with upgrades given to its ICE sibling, the XUV300. The revised alloy wheels, reworked front fascia, and more interior comforts are anticipated for the electric SUV. The 34.5 kWh and 39.4 kWh battery pack options for the redesigned XUV400 EV will likely remain the same, but it might also have a longer driving range. It may carry a starting price tag of Rs 16 lakh (ex-showroom).
New Mahindra XUV300
The Mahindra XUV300 SUV has been waiting a long time for a major facelift. As seen in the spy photos, the redesigned subcompact Mahindra vehicle will have new alloy wheels, a connected LED taillamp arrangement, and a new front fascia with LED DRLS and headlights. Coming to the feature set, a floating touchscreen system is anticipated to be included in the car's cabin after a redesign. To keep up with rivals in the same market, it might even come equipped with ADAS. On top of that, the firm is expected to go with the same powertrain choices seen on the current SUV model, which include a 1.5-litre diesel mill and two turbo-petrol engines.
Mahindra XUV700 Facelift
There will be several improvements for the Mahindra XUV700 as well, the most notable of which is the installation of captain seats. All of the XUV700's rivals offer captain seats like the newly launched cutting-edge Tata Safari. Other amenities that may be added comprise cooled seats and an auto-dim IRVM. Since this particular SUV from Mahindra's stable is still a relatively new offering, any other significant changes to the exterior or interior of the car are not really anticipated.

Mahindra XUV.e8
Lastly, the Mahindra XUV.e8 is a much-awaited all-new electric SUV that is slated to debut in 2024. Introduced last year as a pre-production concept car, it is essentially the Mahindra XUV700's all-electric version. The INGLO platform from the manufacturer, which offers up to 175kW of rapid charging, is the foundation for this electric SUV. Up to 450-kilometre is the WLTP-certified range for the bigger battery. Although the exact specifications of the upcoming Mahindra XUV.e8 are under wraps, the electric version is expected to come equipped with the 80kWh battery pack that can generate power ranging between 230bhp and 345bhp. As far as dimensions are concerned, the new electric car will reportedly measure around 4,740mm in length and feature a wheelbase of 2,762mm.
