Kia India is gearing up to introduce several modified and new models in the Indian market this year. Recently, the carmaker launched the much-anticipated facelift version of the Seltos SUV in the U.S. market. For the international arena, the automaker has offered the SUV with ADAS as standard across all models. Additionally, it has provided the AWD feature with the SUV. This updated model is expected to enter India by July this year. Several new car launches are in the pipeline for our market. A lot of carmakers such as Maruti Suzuki, MG Motor India, Nissan, and more will reportedly bring their respective models into India sometime soon. Kia will also launch various models in the country, including the Seltos SUV facelift, the 2023 Sonet, the fourth-generation Carnival, and more. So, without further ado, let's have a sneak peek into the details of the upcoming Kia cars in India.
Kia Seltos Facelift
The redesigned Kia Seltos has just been introduced in the US market. It features a revised grille with built-in LED DLRs, LED projector headlights, and a modified bumper with a front-end faux skid plate and a thinner air dam. Moreover, it gets all-new connected LED taillamps, an updated LED rear bumper, and freshly designed alloy wheels. Inside, the new Seltos SUV features a 10.25 touchscreen infotainment display with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay connectivity and a 10.25-inch digital instrument panel.
In terms of the powertrain, the SUV has two engine choices: a 1.6-litre turbocharged four-cylinder engine and a 2.0-litre four-cylinder engine. The 1.6-litre four-cylinder turbocharged engine can produce 195bhp and 264Nm, whereas the 2.0-litre four-cylinder engine can produce 146bhp and 179Nm. Both iMT and DCT gearboxes are mated to the engines. As mentioned, the model will probably enter India by July 2023.

New Kia Carens
Kia India is expected to introduce the new Kia Carens this year during the festive season. In terms of interior, the 2023 model will boast a new colour scheme, seat covers, a touchscreen infotainment system, and an advanced instrument panel. Mechanically, the 1.5L turbo-petrol and 1.5L diesel engines that power the current model will remain in the 2023 Carens. Further, the same three transmissions will be available: a 6-speed manual, a 6-speed iMT, and a 7-speed DCT automatic.
The redesigned Carnes could come with the Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS) technology. Adaptive cruise control, blind spot collision avoidance assistance, blind spot detection, Automatic emergency braking, a forward collision avoidance system, a safe exit warning, rear cross-traffic, high beam assistance, lane following assistance, and driver attention warning are likely to be included in the safety suite. With these improvements, the new Carens is expected to cost between Rs 10.45 lakh and Rs 18.95 lakh (All prices, ex-showroom).
2023 Kia Sonet
The 2023 Kia Sonet is said to feature sharply styled headlamps, a larger fog lamp assembly, and a newly designed grille with a piano black finish. According to market reports, it might get new side doors and body cladding. Moreover, it might have an altered L-shaped and a flatter tailboard. The redesigned version will be similar to the current model from the inside in terms of features and layout. However, it is likely to have a new interior theme and upholstery. On the mechanical front, it will draw power from the same 1.5-litre diesel, 1.0-litre tubo petrol, and 1.2-litre naturally aspirated petrol engines. The new Kia Sonet is anticipated to hit Indian roads by the end of this year.
Next-gen Kia Carnival
The fourth-generation Carnival MPV debuted in India at the 2023 Auto Expo. Mechanically, the model comes with three powertrain options abroad: a 2.2-litre Smartstream turbo diesel engine, a 3.5-litre MPi petrol V6, and a 3.5-litre GDi V6 Smartstream engine. According to industry reports, the new Carnival will only be available in India with a turbo diesel engine that generates 191bhp and 440Nm. Design-wise, the all-new Carnival has a more SUV-like design with sharp surfaces and a squared-off outlook in place of a cab-forward MPV-like style. The brand's new design language, which we have already seen on the Kia Telluride, the Sorento, and the Seltos, gives the new KA4 a bold and boxy appearance.

Inside, the upcoming Carnival is different from the previous version. It sports an interior colour scheme of dual-tone beige and brown and two 12.3-inch touchscreen displays for the instrument console and infotainment system. The two screens are housed in a single frame. Touch-sensitive buttons scattered all around the screen can be used to control many features. For the climate control system, a similar panel is located down the centre console. In our market, the model is expected to be launched sometime around the year's end.
