The month of April will see some major car launches in India. The line up includes a small premium sedan, a premium SUV and a monster of a supercar will make their arrival to Indian shores. Here is a closer look. Audi A3 faceliftA31

Audi India will launch an updated version of the A3 sedan in India. The new A3 gets redesigned head lamps with LEDs and revised tail lamps with dynamic turn indicators. Audi has also given the A3 a new 1.4-litre 4-cylinder TSI petrol engine which develops 148bhp and 250Nm of torque. The engine also features cylinder deactivation technology and comes mated to a 7-speed DSG gearbox while the 2.0-litre, 4-cylinder TDI engine which produces 141bhp and 320Nm of torque, gets a 6-speed DSG transmission. As for the interior, most of it is identical to the previous car, but among many of the features, the sunroof will now be standard.

Jeep CompassJeep Compass Front

The first ever home grown Jeep will be launched in India. The car will feature 80% of parts sourced local and will be produced at FCA Group’s Ranjangaon facility to meet the needs of the Indian market as well as right hand driven export markets.

For India, the Compass is expected to be powered by a 2.0-litre, Multijet turbo diesel engine mated to a 9-speed automatic gearbox and a 1.4-litre, MultiAir turbo petrol engine which will come with a 6-speed transmission. These cars will be front wheel driven while an AWD variant is expected to be offered in the top spec version in addition to an offering of a 6-speed manual gearbox. The Jeep Compass is expected to be priced between Rs. 20-25 lakh ex-showroom.

Lamborghini Huracan Performant

Lamborghini Huracan Performante 2018

Lamborghini launched the Huracan RWD Spyder in February and the Aventador S in March. Now April will see the launch of a more focused, lighter and faster version of the Huracan. The Lamborghini Huracan Performante is set to arrive with a naturally aspirated 5.2-lite V10 which is tuned to produce 631bhp and 600Nm of torque. The Performante also features “Aerodinamica Lamborghini Attiva” active aerodynamics and the styling has also been changed to give the car a more aggressive look and distinguish itself from the standard car. The Huracan Performante now holds the lap record at the Nurburgring and is expected to be launched for a price of Rs. 4.5 crore ex-showroom in India.
