Nearly a year after dropping the teaser for the M3 Touring, BMW has now officially confirmed that the estate will debut on June 23.
The German manufacturer is expected to drop the wraps on the car at this year’s Goodwood Festival of Speed and will be placed alongside a MotoGP Safety Car derivative and the recently-unveiled M4 CSL.
The M3 touring will not just be on display at the show but will also participate in the Goodwood Hill Climb during the four-day event. In terms of design, the M3 Touring will share the same ethos as the M3 along with an aero-optimised aggressive front bumper and oversized grille and angular headlamps. The silhouette will only be distinguished behind the C-pillar with a raised rear roof like a typical estate, ending at the rear hatch.
Ahead of this, the company had partially revealed the M3 Touring’s style revealing the new rear tailgate which came with the regular M3’s taillights and rear bumper. In addition to the styling differences, the Touring is also touted to be more practical than its sedan sibling with extra space for luggage in the back, all while retaining the former’s performance.
BMW has not dropped any hints of what the car will hold at heart. However, we expect the car to use the high-revving S58 3.0-litre twin-turbo in-line six engine from the M3 sedan and the M4 Coupe with similar power output figures. The company might also introduce a Competition variant like its sedan sibling some time down the way.
