Toyota launches its new Urban Cruiser compact SUV with prices ranging between Rs. 8.40 lakh to Rs. 11.30 lakh, ex-showroom Delhi.
Toyota India has entered the compact SUV rat race with the launch of its rebadged Urban Cruiser from Maruti Suzuki. Under the familiar skin, the Toyota Urban Cruiser is identical to the Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza in terms of its chassis, suspension setup and other mechanicals. The powertrain is the same too, with Maruti Suzuki’s 1.5-litre K-Series petrol engine being offered with the choice of a four-speed torque converter automatic transmission or a five-speed manual gearbox.

The Urban Cruiser’s four cylinder, naturally aspirated 1.5-litre petrol engine develops 103bhp @ 6,000rpm and 138Nm @ 4,400rpm. The automatic model is offered with Maruti Suzuki’s mild hybrid system as standard for enhanced fuel efficiency and is available across all three variants of the Urban Cruiser. The manual model has a claimed fuel efficiency figure of 17.03km/l, while the automatic model's efficiency is rated at 18.76km/l.
Prices for the Urban Cruiser range between Rs. 8.40 lakh to Rs. 11.30 lakh, ex-showroom Delhi. Toyota's standard warranty includes 3 years or 1 lakh kilometers (whichever is earlier) comprehensive warranty.
