Toyota Rumion MPV Unveiled in India, is Based on Maruti Suzuki Ertiga
Toyota has introduced the Rumion, which is based on the Maruti Suzuki Ertiga, in the country. Reservations and prices for the new MPV will be officially revealed in the coming weeks. The 1.5-litre, naturally aspirated (NA) petrol engine from Maruti Suzuki will power the Toyota Rumion.
Toyota has introduced the much-talked-about Rumion MPV, which is based on the Maruti Suzuki Ertiga, in the country. Reservations and prices for the new car will also be made public in the coming weeks. Toyota will use a "first in, first out" delivery approach, where reservations will be prioritised according to the sequence of bookings and catalogued from an all-India perspective. The Ertiga's feature set and seating arrangement for 7 people have been carried through. Also, the Rumion is exported to countries like South Africa, where it is offered for sale with the exact same specifications as those specified in India. With the Rumion, Toyota has expanded its line of MPVs in the country, which already includes the Innova Crysta, the Hycross, and the Vellfire. Toyota Rumion MPV: Engine and Transmission
The 1.5-litre, naturally aspirated (NA) petrol engine from the leading manufacturer, Maruti Suzuki will continue to power the Toyota Rumion. The MPV's gasoline unit is callibrated to churn out 102bhp of maximum power and 136.8Nm of peak torque. It is paired with a six-speed torque converter automatic transmission in addition to a five-speed manual gearbox. Furthermore, a factory-installed CNG kit for the Rumion is available; in CNG mode, it delivers 87bhp of maximum power and 121.5Nm of peak torque. The Japanese automaker states that the CNG variant has a fuel economy of 26.11kg/km, compared to the petrol version's fuel-efficiency rating of 20.51km/l.
Toyota Rumion MPV: Styling Cues and Variants
Even though the new Rumion is built on the Ertiga, a few aesthetic cues give the former MPV a slightly different appearance from the popular Ertiga. First off, the Rumion receives an updated front grille sporting a mesh design and the same pair of projector headlamps on either side. Along with the alloy wheels, the front, and rear bumpers have also been modified.
In addition to these modifications, there are five exterior colour options for the Rumion: Spunky Blue, Café White, Entycing Silver, Rustic Brown, and Iconic Grey. Besides this, a total of six variants of the new Rumion are available for purchase, giving buyers a lot of choices. These include- S MT/AT, G MT, V MT/AT, and S MT CNG.

Toyota Rumion MPV: Interior and Features
The interior of the new Rumion is dual-toned beige and black. Seven passenger seats, an infotainment system with a 7-inch touchscreen, rear air conditioning vents, automated climate control, and steering-mounted controls are all features of this vehicle. The Toyota MPV offers four airbags, pre-tensioners, and force limiters on the front seatbelts, ABS with EBD, hill-hold assist, and other safety features.
