Toyota Kirloskar Motors has reopened bookings for the Rumion CNG in India, after discontinuing them in September last year owing to the unexpectedly high amount of orders. The CNG-powered MPV (Rs 11.39 lakh) features dual front airbags, ABS with EBD, hill hold, and a four-speaker music system with Bluetooth, USB, and AUX connectivity. It has a lower output of 86bhp and 121.5Nm than its petrol sibling (102bhp and 136.8Nm). The Rumion with a factory-installed CNG has a mileage of 26.11km/kg. It is not equipped with the automatic climate control system and the 7.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system found in the standard model.

Here's Why Toyota Rumion CNG Bookings Reopens in India
Toyota receives several vehicles from Maruti Suzuki as part of their global joint venture. There was a backlog of approximately 50,000 Ertiga CNG cars last year as a result of Maruti Suzuki's inability to increase output. This affected delivery for the Rumion CNG, which is a rebadged version of the Ertiga. Market reports state that after clearing a significant amount of the backlog, Maruti Suzuki has now shortened wait times for its CNG-powered Ertiga, allowing Toyota to start accepting reservations for the Rumion CNG.
Toyota Rumion G Variant Goes Automatic
The petrol-powered 7-seat MPV's G variant now comes with an automatic transmission in India. Priced at Rs 13 lakh (ex-showroom), the new G AT variant is Rs 1.40 lakh more costlier than its manual sibling. It has joined the S and V variants of the MPV that already had automatic gearboxes. The Toyota Rumion is now available in seven different variants: S MT, G MT, S AT, V MT, G AT, V AT, and S MT CNG. The deliveries for the new G AT variant are slated to begin from May 5.
