Toyota is all set to launch its hydrogen-powered Fuel Cell sedan this financial year. Though the four-door sedan will come with a hefty price of around $69,000, its hydrogen fuel cell is the answer to solve automotive pollution. It will first be introduced in Japan and later in the US and European markets in the summer of 2015. The company stated it will initially start selling the model only in the regions "where hydrogen refuelling infrastructure is being developed".
Toyota’s commitment to developing vehicles that are kinder to the environment is based on three principles: embracing diverse energy sources; securing low vehicle emissions; and driving positive environmental change by making these vehicles popular with customers. "This is the start of a long challenge to make hydrogen a standard feature in society and to make the fuel-cell vehicle an ordinary automobile," Toyota Executive Vice-President Mitsuhisa Kato at a news conference. Detailed information of the Fuel Cell sedan such as specifications will be announced later.
