Ahead of the Japan Mobility Show 2023, Toyota Motor Corporation has taken the wraps off its all-electric Concept SUV previewing the first electric Land Cruiser. Billed as the Land Cruiser Se, the concept is slated to make its debut at the upcoming Motor Show starting on October 25. The Land Cruiser Se is an electric version of the Toyota Land Cruiser and, in doing so, it bears the iconic Land Cruiser nameplate which is traditionally associated with a muscular SUV stance and a powerful V8 engine, however, the electric crossover lacks all these qualities. Details are scarce, but the brand has released digital renderings of the concept, featuring a unique and futuristic design. Up front, the Land Cruiser Se gets an enclosed grille, an angled bonnet, slim headlights with the TOYOTA lettering between them, and a daytime running light (DRL) extending into the LED headlamps.

In profile, the Land Cruiser SE, Toyota's third born-EV concept, gets a sharper window line, flared wheel arches, low-profile tyres, flush door handles, and camera-based outside rearview mirrors (ORVMs). Meanwhile, the rear is characterised by a sleek LED light bar, blacked-out pillars, and pronounced fenders. Other design bits include skid plates and a 'floating' roof.
Toyota Land Cruiser Se: Size/Dimensions
Moreover, the Japanese manufacturer has also revealed the dimensions of the Land Cruiser Se. The electric crossover will be 5,150mm long, 1,990mm wide, 1,705mm tall, and will have a wheelbase of 3,050mm. The company said that its EV SUV would have a seating capacity of seven people and therefore will come with a three-row arrangement.
Toyota Land Cruiser Se: Powertrain
Although powertrain specifications are under wraps, the Toyota Land Cruiser Se is said to offer a 'high-torque driving experience', and will be equipped with a dual motor setup transmitting power to all wheels. The vehicle will be underpinned by a monocoque body, promising 'highly responsive handling and confidence in tackling rough terrain'.
Toyota FT-Se, FT-3e To Be Showcased Too
Along with the Land Cruiser Se Concept EV, the company will also showcase the FT-Se and the FT-3e SUV concepts at the Tokyo Motor Show, both of which were teased a week ago. Whilst the FT-3e is said to adopt a design language unique to the brand's EVs, the FT-Se appears to be a performance-oriented variant sharing similarities with the GR electric sports car, which was introduced in December 2021.

Further details are expected to be revealed in the coming days.
