Toyota Land Cruiser 300 Recalled in India Over Automatic Transmission ECU Issue

Toyota claims that the most recall affects 269 Land Cruiser LC300 vehicles that were produced between February 12, 2021, and February 1, 2023.

Toyota has recalled the Land Cruiser LC300 in India as a result of a software update to the automatic transmission ECU. Approximately 269 SUVs built between February 12, 2021, and February 1, 2023, are covered in the most recent recall. Even though the Japanese company has not specified which issue the proposed program aims to fix, it states that no concerns have been reported about the identified flaw till now. It went on to say that owners of the affected vehicles would be informed of the recall and asked to get in touch with their nearest authorized service centre. The software upgrade is going to be free of charge. Toyota additionally stated that owners may continue to operate their SUVs till the software is upgraded.

Toyota Land Cruiser 300: Key Specifications 

The Land Cruiser 300 can seat up to five passengers and comes in a single fully outfitted ZX model.  Precious White Pearl, Super White, Dark Red Mica Metallic, Attitude Black, and Dark Blue Mica are its five exterior paint options from which customers can choose. Its 3.3-litre V6 diesel engine produces 305bhp and 700Nm, mated to a ten-speed automated transmission.

The SUV's features include a motorised tailgate, four-zone climate control, a 12.3-inch free-floating touchscreen, and power-adjustable front seats with heating and ventilation. Ten airbags, multi-terrain ABS with EBD, traction control, hill-start assist, vehicle stability control (VSC), tyre pressure monitoring system (TPMS), parking support brake, and advanced driver-assistance systems (ADAS) are among the safety equipment.

The current ex-showroom pricing of the Toyota Land Cruiser LC300 SUV in India is Rs 2.10 crore. In terms of market competition, the SUV goes head-to-head against the Mercedes-Benz GLS, the BMW X7, and other models in the Indian market.

Regarding the most recent recall, it appears that the automaker took preventive steps to guarantee the efficiency and safety of its cars. The current recall is comparatively of a small number. In December of last year, the Japanese automaker announced a large recall that affected about ten lakh vehicles in the US. Airbag malfunction was the cause of it, and affected cars including the famous Camry, the Corolla, and various models of Lexus.
