Toyota has reported that it sold 14,364 units in January 2015 which is 15% more than what it sold in January last year.
Showing a good growth, Toyota Kirloskar announced that it sold 14,364 units in January 2015 as compared to 12,440 units sold last January. This simply means a growth of 15% for the Japanese carmaker.
In the domestic market, the company sold 12,650 units against 10,910 units sold in January 2014 making it a 16% rise. The number of cars (Etios only) exported last month was 1,714 units.
Commenting on the positive growth, Mr. N Raja, Senior Vice President – Sales and Marketing, Toyota Kirloskar Motors said, “The growth of 16 per cent is also credited to the launch of the New Innova and all-new Fortuner 4X4 AT, in early January. We hope the government would reconsider the excise duty concessions in the upcoming Fiscal Budget, to achieve sustained growth in 2015. In line with the 'Make in India' campaign, structural reforms for the Auto sector are essential at this point in time.”
This is the second good news in recent weeks for the Toyota people back at the headquarters in Japan. The first news came almost two weeks ago when the annual sales figures globally were released, and when Toyota bagged the top spot by selling over 10 million cars worldwide in 2014.
