The latest teaser confirms the upcoming Innova Hycross' hybrid credentials.
Toyota is gearing up to introduce its second anticipated vehicle this year, following the Urban Cruiser Hyryder. Toyota already revealed the upcoming MPV's revamped front look. And, now, the brand has teased the side profile of the Innova Hycross. Judging by the teaser, the car is likely to feature large wheel arches and angular character lines over the quarter panels. The previous teaser highlighted the remarkably different design of the Hycross in comparison to that of the Innova Crysta.
The next-generation Innova will be built on the same Global TNGA-C platform as the Corolla. This means that the ladder-frame chassis and rear-wheel drive will be replaced by a monocoque chassis and the front-wheel drive setup. For MPV owners, the introduction of a hybrid powertrain would be good news, for it's likely to decrease the ownership cost of the car. Much like the Urban Cruiser Hyryder, the Innova Hycross will be available with two powertrain options – a naturally aspirated petrol motor and a petrol-hybrid unit. However, expect the Hycross to get a 2.0-litre petrol unit instead of a 1.5.
Toyota's latest model is expected to include more features than the current variants. It could incorporate a new infotainment screen, digital instrument cluster, lane keep assist, auto high-beam assist, adaptive cruise control, forward collision avoidance, lane departure warning, and road sign alerts, to name a few.
The Innova Hycross will debut in Indonesia on November 21, where it will be known as the Innova Zenix, and after that in India on November 25.
