The India-spec Toyota Innova Hycross is expected to be priced between ₹ 21 lakh to ₹ 27 lakh (ex-showroom), as and when it goes on sale in the country.
In Indonesia, Toyota has revealed the Innova Zenix. This is the same model that'll go on sale in India shortly, dubbed the Innova Hycross. Toyota India will unveil the India-spec version on November 25. The price will be revealed during the Auto Expo in January 2023, though.
On offer with the Innova Zenix, there's a 2.0-litre petrol engine that will be coupled with fifth-generation strong hybrid technology (the M20A FXS). As is the case with a majority of Toyota hybrid engines, this one is based on Atkinson or Miller cycle for higher efficiency. Coupled with an electric motor, producing 149bhp and 187Nm of torque, the combined power output will stand at 183bhp. The non-hybrid variant has a 1,987cc four-cylinder engine (M20A-FKS), which develops 171bhp and 197Nm. Both the hybrid and non-hybrid models come with CVT automatic gearbox. There's no word if a manual version will be offered. Expect the fuel efficiency to range between 20km/l and 23km/l. Also, the new Innova Hycross will have a full-EV mode available on the strong hybrid models, just like the Hyryder.
The top-end variants comprise faux wood and metal finishes, quilted leather seats, second-row captain seats with ottoman function, full-LED headlamps, LED daytime running lamps, larger alloy wheels, a panoramic sunroof, wireless charging, a 360-degree camera, ambient lighting. Hence, the new Innova has more equipment than the previous models.
The new Innova Hycross (Zenix) has a different interior from that of the Innova Crysta. A twin-layer set-up in the dashboard's brand-new design allows for additional space for the driver and front passenger. The centre console, steering wheel, and fully digital instrument cluster will also have a new design. It also gets a dashboard-mounted gear lever.
As for its dimensions, the new Innova is 1,850mm wide and 4,755mm long. The height is the same at 1,795mm, despite the fact that both of these measures are greater than the Innova Crysta. The new model's wheelbase is 100mm longer than the previous one, measuring 2,850mm as opposed to 2,750mm. Although the overhangs are shorter, the longer wheelbase will help create additional cabin space. However, the company has retained the Innova Crysta's 185mm ground clearance. Higher models will have a dual-tone interior with dark brown leather seats and an all-black design scheme. Depending on the type, the Innova Hycross offers seating arrangements for 7 or 8 passengers.
On the inside, the top variants in Indonesia offer dual 10-inch screens, climate control, and more features for second-row passengers. Toyota Safety Sense 3.0, which comes equipped with features like Adaptive Cruise Control and Lane Keeping Assist, is included with the new Innova. Additional safety measures included in the new Innova are several airbags, three-point seatbelts for every passenger, ABS, and EBD. Every variant of the new Innova will boast four-wheel disc brakes.
