Will look sportier than the standard model thanks to some cosmetic changes
It has been more than a decade since Toyota introduced the Innova in India. The fan following of the MPV has only increased since then. Even in the latest iteration, the Innova Crysta, the car has only been lauded for its comfort, luxury and reliability. However, being an MPV, the new Toyota Innova Crysta isn’t a car that will win beauty pageants. Toyota is all set to address this too with the addition of a new Touring Sport variant to the Innova Crysta. This variant is already on sale in the Indonesian market.
The Indonesian-spec model comes only in the wine-red shade, we will have to wait to see if the India-spec model too will come in the same colour. To make give the Innova Crysta a sporty appeal, Toyota has fitted it with black front grille and alloy wheels. Additionally, it also comes with black plastic cladding on the front and rear bumpers, which continues onto the sides on the wheel arches too. It also gets a generous dose of chrome on the headlights, bumpers and ORVMs. Just like the regular model, this one too will sit on 16-inch alloy wheels although they will be finished in black. Aside from the chrome bits on the sharper bumper, the Innova Crysta’s large rear spoiler makes it look sporty.
On the inside, the Toyota Innova Crysta Touring Sport variant is expected to come with a 6-seat layout with captain seats for the second-row passengers. Other features will remain the same as the regular Innova Crysta. Talking about the standard model, it comes with one petrol and two diesel engine options. Details about whether the Touring Sport edition will come with all three engine options or just one of them is still unclear. That being said, with all the cosmetic additions, expect the Toyota Innova Crysta Touring Edition to demand a considerable premium over the regular model.
