The Innova Crysta Touring Sport with the 2.4-litre diesel mill was fitted with a 5-speed manual during launch
Celebrating the first anniversary of the Innova Crysta, Toyota brought in a new Touring Sport variant earlier this year in May. The sporty looking MPV was launched with all three-engine options as the standard model – a 2.4-litre diesel, a 2.8-litre diesel, and a 2.7-litre petrol motor. Just a few months into its launch, Toyota has silently updated the 2.4-litre variant of the Touring Sport. The company has now fitted it with a 6-speed manual transmission instead of the previous 5-speed one. That being said, the 2,393cc four-cylinder motor continues to churn out 148bhp and 343Nm. Toyota has priced the updated Innova Crysta Touring Sport 2.4 at Rs 19.60 lakh. When it was first launched, the car was priced at Rs 18.91 lakh. All prices ex-showroom Delhi. Oddly though, Toyota has only updated the Touring Sport 2.4 with the 6-speed manual transmission. The standard Innova Crysta continues to be fitted with a 5-speed manual gearbox.
In terms of design and interior, the Innova Crysta Touring Sport remains unchanged. Toyota has however added a few new features including navigation option in the touchscreen infotainment system and idle start/stop function. The new 6-speed gearbox and the addition of the start/stop function might result in a marginal increase in efficiency. All other features like the 50:50 split third row, steering mounted controls, voice recognition, button start and more, remain in this updated variant as well. In terms of safety, the Innova Crysta Touring Sport comes with three airbags, ABS, Brake Assist, vehicle stability control and more.
