Most manufacturers have announced a price hike and the Toyota Innova Crysta is the next one to join the bandwagon. The new price list will be effective from the second half of 2021.
Toyota India has announced a price hike for its Innova Crysta that will be effective from August 1, 2021. Currently, the Toyota Innova Crysta is priced between Rs 16.11 lakh (ex-showroom) for the base petrol variant and goes up to Rs 24.59 lakh (ex-showroom) for the top-spec diesel automatic variant. The new prices of the Innova Crysta will be up by 2 per cent. Toyota says the upward price revision is owing to the rise in the input cost.
Earlier this week, Maruti Suzuki also upped the price of its 2021 Swift by Rs 15,000. On Wednesday, Tata Motors also revealed its plans to hike the price of its passenger cars. Similarly, Honda four-wheelers India will join the price hike bandwagon from next month onwards.
"The prices for raw materials like steel, aluminium and precious metals have increased sharply and many of them are at an all-time high, impacting our input costs significantly," said Honda Cars India Senior VP and Director (Marketing and Sales), Rajesh Goel.
Coming back to the Toyota Innova Crysta, the MPV will not see any mechanical or cosmetic change despite the price hike. Toyota will continue to offer the Innova Crysta in G, G+, GX, VX and ZX variants. The Innova Crysta will continue with its 2.7-litre petrol and a 2.4-litre diesel engine. Along with a five-speed manual, both the engines come with an optional six-speed automatic transmission.
