Toyota Hyrder CNG has been launched in India with a starting price of Rs 13.23 lakh (ex-showroom). The SUV's price rises to Rs 15.29 lakh (ex-showroom). Moreover, bookings for the car have been available since November 2022 for a token amount of Rs 25,000. It should be noted that there aren't many mid-size CNG SUV options available in the Indian market. The Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara is the only vehicle available to consumers other than the Hyryder CNG in this segment. Both these cars have been developed in a partnership between Maruti Suzuki and Toyota. The Toyota Hyryder is available in India in E, S, G, and V variants. The CNG powertrain, however, will only be available in the mid-size SUV's S and G trim levels. The SUVs cost Rs 95,000 more than the petrol versions. Similarly, when compared to the Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara, the price gap ranges between Rs 38,000 and Rs 45,000, based on the version.

The Hyryder CNG is powered by the same 1.5-litre, four-cylinder K12C engine found in the Ertiga and the XL6 CNG. The engine produces 102bhp of maximum power and 136Nm of peak torque in petrol mode but drops to a maximum power output of 87bhp and 121.5Nm of torque in CNG mode. The Hyryder CNG, like most CNG models, is only available with a 5-speed manual transmission, and Toyota asserts the midsize SUV has a fuel economy figure of 26.6km/kg.
The Toyota Hyryder CNG has the same exterior styling as the petrol-powered model of the vehicle. With the addition of the CNG badge, there has been a small change. The interiors of the mid-SUV are currently all black and have a design that is remarkably similar to the Grand Vitara. However, the Hyryder has less boot space than the other two vehicles due to its larger 60-litre CNG tank.
Coming to the interior of the SUV, the dashboard of the car resembles that of Maruti Suzuki models such as the Baleno and the Brezza. The interior is dual-tone, with padded leather on the dash and some chrome and soft-touch materials on the door pads. It shares some of its components with Maruti Suzuki, such as the AC controls, AC vents, a panoramic sunroof, a 360-degree camera, a wireless charger, a fully digital instrument cluster, a heads-up display, a 9.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system with connectivity features like Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, an engine start/stop button, six safety airbags, cruise control, hill-hold assist, 3-point seatbelts for all rear passengers, all-wheel disc brakes, and a reverse parking camera with sensors are just a few of the many features the car is outfitted with.

The Grand Vitara CNG, the only other midsize SUV with a CNG option, will face stiff competition from the Hyryder CNG. It also goes up against midsize SUVs like the Hyundai Creta, the Volkswagen Taigun, the Kia Seltos, the Nissan Kicks, the MG Astor, and the Skoda Kushaq.
