Toyota Hyryder 7-Seater SUV Spied Testing for the First Time Ahead of India Launch
Once launched, the 7-seater Toyota Hyryder will compete in India with the likes of the Tata Safari, Mahindra XUV700, and 3-row Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara.

The Toyota Hyryder 7-seater SUV has been spotted testing for the first time in India, ahead of its anticipated launch. Building on the success of its 5-seater sibling, the new 7-seater variant promises to offer more space, practicality, and enhanced features. This larger version is expected to compete in the growing mid-size SUV segment, catering to families looking for a reliable and versatile vehicle. While specific details are still under wraps, the spy shots suggest a refined design and advanced technology. With its blend of comfort, performance, and the trusted Toyota badge, the Hyryder 7-seater is expected to generate considerable interest in the Indian market upon its release.
Toyota Hyryder 7-Seater SUV Spied: Key Details
The rear of the upcoming three-row Toyota Hyryder remains largely concealed under camouflage, but sleeker LED tail lamps manage to peek through. These redesigned lights appear notably different from those on the current 5-seater and seem to draw inspiration from the units seen on a previously spied test mule of the Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara (7-seater).

Along the side, the prototype maintains the familiar styling of the standard Hyryder, though the rear bodywork has been visibly extended to accommodate an additional row of seats. It also gets a fresh set of alloy wheels, different from those seen on the existing variant. Meanwhile, elements like the conventional door handles, rear wiper, and roof rails look unchanged. The inside rearview mirror is auto-dimming, a feature already offered on the on-sale model.
Toyota Hyryder 7-Seater SUV: Interior and Powertrain
The interior is still hidden from view, but it is likely the extended Hyryder will bring more than just extra seating. It could feature a wireless phone charger, upgraded touchscreen unit, a heads-up display (HUD), ventilated front seats, a tyre pressure monitoring system (TPMS), a larger digital instrument display, a panoramic sunroof, a 360-degree camera, ambient lighting with multiple colour options, an electronic parking brake, and an electronically adjustable driver’s seat. The carmaker may also introduce Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) for improved safety.

As for powertrain, Toyota is expected to retain the existing options: a 1.5-litre naturally aspirated (NA) petrol engine in both mild-hybrid and strong-hybrid forms. Transmission choices are likely to remain the same too – five-speed manual and six-speed automatic for the mild-hybrid, and e-CVT for the strong-hybrid. That said, the company could tweak performance figures slightly to better suit the larger vehicle.

Toyota’s three-row Hyryder is expected to come at a higher price point compared to the existing five-seater version, which currently retails at a starting ex-showroom price of Rs 11.34 lakh (ex-showroom).
