The Etios Cross X-Edition is priced at Rs. 6.80 lakh and Rs. 8.23 lakh for petrol and diesel versions respectively - both ex-showroom, Kolkata.
With the festive season coming closer, auto manufacturers are flooding the market with new special edition models to entice the customer. The month of September, 2017, alone has witnessed the launch of Tata Tiago Wizz, Nissan Micra Fashion, Renault Duster Sandstorm, and many special edition motorcycles.
Now, Toyota is joining the bandwagon with its new Etios Cross X-Edition. The model is based on G variant of the petrol Etios Cross, and V variant of the diesel model. The changes to this limited edition model remain purely cosmetic. The cladding on the front bumper and sides of the Etios Cross are now coloured in glossy black. Also, the X-Edition comes painted in Quartz Brown colour - which isn’t available on the regular model.
The interior of the Etios Cross X-Edition gets a jet black dashboard, along with a new dual tone upholstery to go with it. For the first time on the Etios Cross comes a 6.8-inch infotainment system with a reverse parking camera, voice commands, and iPod compatibility.
Under the hood, a familiar choice of either a 1.2-litre petrol, or a 1.4-litre diesel engine can be found. The petrol makes 78bhp and 104Nm, while the diesel is capable of producing 67bhp and 170Nm. Both engines come paired to a 5-speed manual transmission. Basic safety gear like ABS, dual front airbags, and ISOFIX mounts come standard on the Etios Cross X-Edition.
The Toyota Etios Cross has lately been facing a lot of heat from more contemporary rivals like the Honda WR-V and Hyundai i20 Active. With the X-Edition, Toyota hopes to increase its sales momentum during the festive season. The X-Edition costs roughly Rs. 33,000 more than the standard Etios Cross.
