Mercedes-AMG has introduced the PureSpeed, based on the SL 63, as the first model in its Mythos series—a new collection of special-edition cars. The exclusive model separates itself from the AMG SL roadster with a series of striking revisions to its exterior. These include a highly aggressive aerodynamic upgrade, setting the tone for its performance-focused design. The familiar AMG Panamericana grille is replaced by a striking shark-nose design, highlighted by a prominent central air intake and dynamic side. The AMG emblem is prominently positioned on the lower edge of the front bumper. Moreover, the hood is meticulously sculpted, featuring extra venting to optimize airflow and cooling.

The PureSpeed forgoes the traditional roof. In place of the A-pillar and windscreen, it adopts a cutting-edge wind deflector positioned in front of the cockpit. A Formula 1-inspired ‘halo’ bar that bisects the cockpit is also a part of the design. Other notable features include 21-inch forged aluminium wheels and an extendable rear spoiler. Mercedes-AMG PureSpeed: What’s More?
The exclusive edition nods to the legendary 192 Mercedes-Benz Targa Florio with its red and black livery, featuring the iconic #10 on the fenders. However, customers have the option to opt for a matte silver colour. Inside, AMG Performance seats are draped in meticulously crafted leather and adorned with bespoke stitching. The door sills are finished in premium leather, while the two-tone leather steering wheel adds a touch of refinement.
Completing the interior is a custom IWC Schaffhausen analogue watch, mounted on the dashboard. Every PureSpeed is equipped with a pair of custom helmets and an integrated intercom system, enabling seamless communication between the two occupants during the drive.

The PureSpeed is powered by the same 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8 found in the SL 63. This unit produces 577bhp and 800Nm and is mated to a 9-speed automatic transmission and a fully-variable all-wheel-drive system. The car boasts a 0-100 km/h sprint time of just 3.6 seconds. and a top speed of 315km/h. It is equipped with Mercedes’ advanced Active Ride Control system, dynamically adjusting the suspension to deliver a perfect balance of comfort and precision. The car also boasts standard carbon-ceramic brakes and active rear-axle steering.
