Tata Harrier EV

At the Auto Expo 2023, Tata Motors unveiled the Harrier EV concept. The domestic auto giant hasn't yet provided any specific details, but industry rumors suggest that the concept's production model will enter India some time in 2024. The concept version of the EV looks different from the vehicle fuelled by gasoline. Aside from a new grille that has been blocked off, the front profile features an updated bumper, split headlamps with a newly created LED light bar, a blackened housing, and geometric creases. Industry reports state that the future Harrier EV in production specification will maintain the concept's appearance. The rumours further assert that the future electric vehicle will be built on the Tata Gen 2 (also known as Sigma) platform, a significantly upgraded version.

Tata Punch EV

According to reports, the automaker will begin selling the electrified Punch around the festive season this year. Similar to the Curvv, the inside of the compact EV is likely to include a newly designed two-spoke steering wheel with an illuminated symbol in the center. It might also have a 360-degree camera, an autonomous parking brake, and other features. In terms of the drivetrain, the Tiago EV hatchback's 19.2kWh and 24kWh battery options will likely be available for the electric SUV as well. The forthcoming electric Punch is predicted to have a driving range of about 300-kilometre on a full charge. A closer look at the SUV is anticipated as we get closer to its debut, which may occur this year around Diwali.

Hyundai Creta EV

Hyundai is actively testing the Creta's electric variant. The Creta EV production model won't likely be in showrooms until 2025. Regarding the exterior design, the Creta EV prototype is essentially identical to its internal combustion counterpart, despite the Hyundai electric SUV being spotted with different-coloured body panels on the front bumper, rear bumper, and tailgate. The Creta EV would be completely built in India and exported worldwide.

The details of the battery pack and the motor have been kept under wraps by Hyundai, although reports suggest that the Creta EV may use parts from the Kona EV, which is sold in India. According to the Kona EV's specifications, the future Creta EV could be powered by a 39.2kWh lithium-ion battery and a 134bhp electric motor with 395Nm of torque. To put its charging capabilities into perspective, a 50kW DC charger charges it from 0 to 80% in less than an hour, while an AC charger takes six hours to fully charge it. According to the ARAI report, the Kona EV has a range of 452-kilometre, implying that the Creta EV might have a range of more than 400-kilometre. The Creta EV will compete with electric SUVs such as the MG ZS EV and the future Maruti Suzuki eVX, which debuted at the 2023 Auto Expo. The Creta EV is likely to cost between Rs 18 lakh and Rs 30 lakh.
