Mahindra Thar 5-Door
It is anticipated that Mahindra will launch a five-door variant of its beloved Thar SUV in August. This launch comes after the arrival of its competitors like the Maruti Suzuki Jimny and Force Gurkha five-door models on the market. Two engine options will be available for the new Thar: a 2.0-litre turbocharged petrol and a 2.2-liter diesel. The five-door Thar appears to have new exterior styling, a revised interior, bench seats in the second row, an improved luggage capacity, and a larger infotainment screen, according to spy photos.
Kia Clavis
After the Sonet and Seltos' popularity, the South Korean manufacturer is all set to add the Clavis to its roster of SUVs. The Clavis, frequently spotted during testing on Indian roads, is predicted to be in the size range between the Sonet and Seltos. Upon launch, the Kia Clavis is expected to take on the likes of the Tata Curvv and Citroen Basalt. The Clavis will likely have a 1.0-litre turbo petrol engine, producing 118bhp of maximum power and 172Nm of peak torque. This unit will come mated to either a six-speed iMT or a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox. Furthermore, there could be a 1.5-litre diesel engine option as well as a naturally aspirated petrol engine, taken from the Sonet or Seltos.
Tata Curvv
The new Curvv SUV from Tata Motors is scheduled to launch in the second half of this year. Showcased at the 2023 Auto Expo and Bharat Mobility Show, it will be available in three different versions: electric, diesel, and petrol. The petrol-powered version will be released first. Once on the market, it will rival popular models like the Hyundai Creta and Kia Seltos. Two engines will be on offer: a 1.5-litre four-cylinder turbo-petrol engine with 125bhp and a 1.5-litre diesel engine similar to the one found in Nexon. The electric version, built on the Gen 2 acti.ev platform, is intended to have a range of up to 500 km.
Volkswagen ID.4
Volkswagen has announced that the ID.4 will be the brand's first electric car to arrive in India by year's end. The ID.4, which is already on the market in places like Europe, will be delivered via the completely built unit (CBU) route. It will go up against the Kia EV6 and Hyundai Ioniq 5. The GTX version of the car will have an 82kWh battery pack, a 500 km range, and an all-wheel-drive system. With a maximum speed of 180km/h, the ID.4 can accelerate from 0 to 100km/h in just over six seconds, thanks to the electric motor's 299bhp and 499Nm output.
