Tata Curvv
Early in the upcoming year, Tata Motors plans to release the Curvv. It will be offered in our markets in two avatars — electric and ICE, with the former marking its debut first. According to several industry reports, the company's new 1.5-litre turbocharged petrol engine, mated to a dual-clutch automatic and manual transmission, may be made available with the ICE version of the Curvv. Nevertheless, the automaker has not yet revealed any official details about the engine specifications. The electric version of the SUV will likely have a 500-kilometre range. Although not much is known about the electric drivetrain, the EV is rumored to have been constructed using the automaker's Gen2 platform.
When the Curvv ICE version goes on sale in India, it will face up against the Tata Harrier, the MG Astor, the MG Hector, and the Mahindra XUV700. On the other hand, the MG ZS EV will be the Curvv EV's primary rival.
Kia Sonet Facelift
Kia will be launching the Sonet facelift in the nation in the first quarter of 2024 after its official debut on December 14. The 1.2-litre NA Petrol with 83bhp, the 1.0-litre turbocharged petrol unit with 118bhp, and the 1.5-litre turbo diesel motor with 114bhp will likely be the engine options available for the forthcoming Sonet. A 5-speed manual, a 6-speed iMT, a 7-speed DCT, and a 6-speed torque converter automatic are the potential transmission options. It is expected that the automobile would receive major cosmetic enhancements, which could translate into a higher price tag than the present-generation model. The current Sonet version costs between Rs 7.79 lakh to Rs 14.89 lakh in our market. The mentioned figures are ex-showroom, Delhi.
Tata Altroz Racer
Sales and debuts of new cars have been at an all-time high for Tata Motors this year. At the beginning of 2023, the manufacturer displayed several models at the Indian Auto Expo. Multiple models have been released by the homegrown carmaker since then. These comprise the Nexon facelift, the redesigned Tiago, the Tigor CNG, the 2023 Harrier and Safari, the Punch CNG, and the Altroz CNG. The brand has not disclosed a debut date for the performance hatchback, despite the Altroz Racer being displayed at the Expo in its production-ready version. However, the recent sighting of an Altroz Racer test mule wearing camouflage suggests that a debut in the coming months is likely.
The car has both mechanical and aesthetic improvements over the standard Altroz. The most striking features are the gloss black finished alloy wheels and ORVMs, the blacked-out roof and bonnet, and the "Racer" logo located on the front fender. Regarding features, the Expo display model included a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system, air purifier, six airbags, voice-activated electric sunroof, digital instrument cluster, and more. It is powered mechanically by a 1.2-litre turbocharged petrol engine coupled with a six-speed manual transmission. This unit tweaked to produce 120bhp and 170Nm of torque, is taken from the Nexon.
Tata Punch EV
Although the firm has not yet made a formal announcement regarding the electric Punch's launch date, it is anticipated that the vehicle will be on Indian roads by the end of 2023. It will rival the likes of the Hyundai Exter and the Citroen eC3, and its ex-showroom starting price might be approximately Rs 10 lakh. Among other EV-specific changes, the car will have a new front grille, LED headlamp clusters, and a front bumper integrated with a charging port. Moreover, it will have unique alloy wheels, unlike the standard model. There will be two battery pack variants available for the electrified Punch, likely based on the Tiago.ev or the Nexon.ev.

New Maruti Suzuki Swift
Early in October 2023, Suzuki unveiled its all-new Swift car concept at the Tokyo Motor Show. Following that, a Maruti Suzuki Swift test mule was seen on the Indian roads. Spy images show that the car has some adjustments, such as a redesigned grille, new alloy wheels, and improvements to the front and bumper, but it still has many of the classic Swift features.
The Tokyo Motor Show saw the introduction of the Z12E 1.2-litre petrol engine, which is set to power the Swift there. Also on offer will be a CVT gearbox and an all-wheel drive system. Though there are many speculations that this new engine would drive the Swift headed for India as well, the mill's output is unknown.
