SUVs are quite popular among Indian customers, given their road presence, comfort levels, and spaciousness. Another factor that buyers consider when purchasing a vehicle is its fuel efficiency. Given the increased demand for fuel-efficient SUVs in India, we've curated a list of the top five fuel-efficient SUVs in the country. So, let’s take a look.
Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara/Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder
At the top of the list are two Japanese siblings from separate manufacturers – the Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara and Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder. With a 1.5-litre four-cylinder Atkinson cycle petrol engine, combined with an electric motor under the hood, these vehicles have a stated ARAI fuel efficiency of 27.97km/l.
