Hyundai topped the SUV sales chart in March 2025 with the Creta, while Tata Motors secured two spots in the top five with the Punch and Nexon. Maruti Suzuki’s Brezza and Mahindra’s Scorpio rounded out the list. SUVs continue to be the most preferred vehicle type in India, offering several advantages over hatchbacks and sedans—most notably, greater space and versatility. Hyundai Creta
The Hyundai Creta was the best-selling SUV in India in March 2025, with 18,059 units sold—marking a year-on-year growth of around 10%.

The SUV boasts a feature-rich interior and diverse engine options, including the newly added EV variant. Pricing starts at Rs 11.11 lakh for the ICE model and Rs 17.99 lakh for the electric version.
Tata Punch

Despite a slight year-on-year increase, the Tata Punch SUV secured the second spot in its segment's best-sellers for March 2025, with 17,714 units sold (up from 17,547 in March 2024). Its strong overall performance also made it the second best-selling car in FY25, only behind the Maruti Suzuki Wagon R. While the ICE model of the SUV starts at Rs 6 lakh, the EV version asks for Rs 9.99 lakh. Both are ex-showroom figures.
Maruti Suzuki Brezza

The Maruti Suzuki Brezza maintained its strong presence in the Indian SUV market, securing a prominent spot on the list in March. It recorded sales of 16,546 units, reflecting a solid 13% year-on-year growth from 14,614 units sold in March 2024. In FY25, the sub-compact SUV became the fifth best-selling car. It is priced between Rs 8.69 lakh and Rs 14.14 lakh (both, ex-showroom).
Tata Nexon

The Tata Nexon sold 16,366 units in March 2025, securing fourth place among best-selling SUVs. This represents a strong 16% year-on-year growth from 14,058 units in March 2024, highlighting its continued market relevance and the impact of its diverse powertrain options, including EV. The ICE version is priced at Rs 8 lakh, while the EV costs Rs 12.49 lakh. Both are starting and ex-showroom prices.
Mahindra Scorpio

The Mahindra Scorpio, comprising the Scorpio-N and Classic models, occupied the fifth position in the March 2025 top-selling SUV list. It sold a total of 13,913 units, showing a year-on-year decline of 8%.
