Several manufacturers, including Hyundai and Mahindra, experienced positive growth during the festive month of October. Maruti Suzuki remained the best-selling automaker, with four of the top five cars on the list. However, the company saw a 5% dip in sales year-over-year, selling 1.59 lakh units. During the last month, the Maruti Suzuki Ertiga remained the best-selling car. It experienced a YoY growth of an astounding 33.90%. Here are the top five best-selling cars in October.

Maruti Suzuki Ertiga
The Ertiga sold 18,785 units, up 33.90% over the 14,209 units sold in October 2023. The MPV recorded a month-over-month boost in sales, with 17,441 units sold in September of this year.

The Maruti Suzuki car comes in four primary variants (LXi, VXi, ZXi, and ZXi+) and is powered by a 1.5-litre petrol engine with mild hybrid technology. It also has a CNG powertrain. The price of the MPV starts at Rs 8.69 lakh and goes up to Rs 13.03 lakh (ex-showroom).
Maruti Suzuki Swift
Despite a 14.85% YoY decrease, the new-gen Swift was the second best-selling car during the festive season. The hatch sold 17,539 units last month, compared to 20,598 in October 2023. The Maruti Suzuki hatchback is propelled by a Z-series 1.2-litre 3-cylinder petrol unit that produces 80bhp at 5,700rpm and 112Nm at 4,300rpm. It costs between Rs 6.49 lakh and Rs 9.64 lakh (both, ex-showroom).
Hyundai Creta
The Creta retained its third spot on the list, with 17,497 units sold. This demonstrated a remarkable YoY increase of 33.80%. The SUV sold 15,902 units in September 2024, up 25.05% from the previous year's 12,717 units. Hyundai offers three powertrain options for the Creta: a new 1.5-litre turbo petrol, a 1.5-litre diesel, and a 1.5-litre naturally aspirated (NA) petrol. The SUV is priced between Rs 11 lakh and Rs 20.15 lakh (both, ex-showroom).
Maruti Suzuki Brezza
In October 2024, the Brezza sold 16,565 units, registering an increase of 3.21% over the previous year's total of 16,050. With 15,322 units delivered in September, the SUV also had a month-over-month rise. The Brezza has a 1.5-litre petrol engine that produces 101.5bhp and 137Nm. It retails between Rs 8.34 lakh and Rs 14.14 lakh. Both are ex-showroom figures.
Maruti Suzuki Fronx
The Fronx emerged as the fifth best-seller in the previous month. It sold 16,419 units, a 44.57% increase over 11,357 units sold in October 2023.

The Fronx has six variants (Sigma, Delta, Delta+, Delta+ (O), Zeta, and Alpha), and is priced between Rs 7.52 lakh and Rs 13.04 lakh (both, ex-showroom). It comes with two engine options: a 1.2-litre naturally aspirated (NA) petrol and a 1.0-litre Boosterjet turbo-petrol.
