Due to the success of models like the Alto, Swift, Ertiga, and Baleno, Maruti Suzuki continued to be the best-selling brand in India during the festive month of October 2024. The carmaker's long-lasting dominance was aided by its extensive service network and reasonable prices. Hyundai and Mahindra also saw significant demand for their goods during the festive season, with deliveries of 55,568 units and 54,504 units, respectively. Maruti Suzuki
With 1.59 lakh units sold, the Swift manufacturer maintained its top spot as India's best-selling car brand in October. This represents a 5% decrease year-on-year and a 10% increase month-on-month. The company just launched its highly anticipated all-new Dzire in India, with a starting price of Rs 6.79 lakh. The sedan is the first Maruti Suzuki model to receive a perfect 5-star safety rating from Global NCAP.
Hyundai
Compared to the 55,128 units sold in October 2023, Hyundai sold 55,568 units last month, a marginal increase of 0.8%. On a month-over-month basis, however, the company saw a rise of 8.7%.

The South Korean automaker plans to unveil the Ioniq 9 in November 2024. The styling of the SUV is similar to the Seven Concept showcased at the 2021 Los Angeles Auto Show. It has a full-width LED light bar with "parametric pixels," squared-off wheel arches, traditional doors with B-pillars, pop-out door handles, and large D-pillars. Mechanically, the Hyundai Ioniq 9 is expected to be built on the same e-GMP architecture as the Kia EV9 sold abroad, and include 76.1kWh and 99.8kWh battery packs.
Mahindra
With 54,504 vehicles sold, Mahindra was the third-best-selling car brand during the festive month of October. It had a noteworthy 24.7% YoY growth and a roughly 6.7% MoM gain, indicating significant demand for its products. According to industry sources, the Mahindra Thar Roxx has a huge waiting period ranging between 10 and 15 months in India, depending on the model selected. The 5-door SUV has six core variants (MX1, MX3, AX3 L, MX5, AX5 L, and AX7) and is priced between 12.99 lakh and Rs 22.49 lakh. Both are ex-showroom figures.
Tata Motors
Despite a 0.4% year-on-year dip, Tata Motors ranked fourth on the list of top-selling car brands last month. It sold 48,133 units, compared to last year's 48,343 units. With 41,065 dispatches in September, the company had a MoM rise of 17.2%. The Tiago EV, the four-door electric hatchback, surpassed the 50,000-unit sales milestone in India last month. The EV has two battery options: 19.2kWh (Medium Range) and 24kWh (Long Range). The former has a range of 250 kikometres, while the latter offers a range of 315 kilometres.
Toyota
Toyota sold 28,138 vehicles in October, representing a 37% year-on-year increase. In the same period the previous year, the company sold 20,542 units. The Japanese automaker increased its sales by 18.2% month-over-month.

To celebrate the festive season, Toyota launched special editions of its numerous models, including the Hyryder, the Glanza, and the Rumion last month. These models boast special accessories and other upgrades.
