Here are India’s best-selling cars for the month of May 2018.
The recent facelift seems to have worked quite well for the Hyundai Creta, as the SUV managed to find over 11,000 new homes last month – 1,800 units more as compared to April 2018. In fact, Creta’s popularity even eclipsed Hyundai’s more affordable Grand i10 and i20, both of which sold in marginally lesser numbers.
Other than that, Maruti Suzuki’s success saga continued like always, where the Dzire remained India’s favourite car. The second best-selling compact sedan was the new Amaze, which was at a distant eleventh position in the top sellers list, by having sold 9,789 units.
The new Swift’s sales surprisingly decline by roughly 3,500 units month on month, even though it was India’s fourth best-selling vehicle last month. In fact, the more premium Baleno marginally edged out the Swift in terms of sales.
Talking of newly launched cars, Ford’s newcomer Freestyle found 3,027 new takers last month, making it the second-best selling car in the American carmaker’s portfolio. Ford’s best-seller, as expected, remained the EcoSport which clocked a monthly sales number of 5,003. However, the EcoSport was still no match for the Brezza, which manages to stay on top of UV sales every month.
