The Jaguar E-Type, described as the most beautiful car in the world by Enzo Ferrari at the 1961 Geneva Auto Salon, has hit the headlines once again. Positioned as a rival to the Lamborghini Miura and the Mercedes 300SL Gullwing, the legendary British sports car underwent a significant transformation. Built by DevSpeed Motorsports in collaboration with Eneos, the 1969 XKE 2+2-based Jaguar E-Type was put on display at the 2023 SEMA Show in Las Vegas (October 31 to November 4), along with the 2003 Nissan 350Z powered by two turbocharged Honda K24 engines as well as the 1997 Toyota Land Cruiser with a 2009 HZJ79 pickup body. Speaking of Toyota, the modified E-Type comes with a 2JZ-GTE, inline, six-cylinder engine derived from the Toyota Supra. This engine is claimed to belt out 740bhp (or 750hp), thanks to a new fuel system, head casing, pistons, fuel injectors, an ECU tune, as well as a Borg Warner EFR 8474 turbocharger.

Special Jaguar E-Type for SEMA 2023: Hardware and Other Bits

Eneos Jaguar E Type Rear

Power is sent to the wheels via a ZF five-speed manual transmission sourced from the BMW M3 (E36). In terms of hardware, the newly showcased Jaguar E-Type is kitted out with the rear subframe, suspension, and differential borrowed from the BMW 5-series (E60). Besides, the front brakes are carried over from the 2002 Chevrolet Corvette (C5). The specially built Jaguar E-Type rolls on 17-inch Rotiform STL wheels draped in 225/45 R17 front and 255/40 R17 rear Bridgestone Potenza tyres.

Drawing inspiration from the original Jaguar Lightweight E-Type, the modified version features wider 3D-printed carbon-fibre-reinforced fenders to accommodate these heavy Bridgestone Potenza RE-71 RS tyres. Other bits include a bespoke front suspension, a DevSpeed roll cage, Silvers coil-overs, as well as a host of aftermarket interior parts, which include Tillett seats with Schroth harnesses, OMP steering wheel, OBP pedal box, and foot panels.

Jaguar E-Type: A Blast from the Past

In March 1961 at the Geneva Auto Salon, the British manufacturer, Jaguar, unveiled the iconic E-type sports car. Under the skin, it featured a 265bhp 3.8-litre engine with a 4-speed manual gearbox. Fast forward to 2017, this iconic sports car marked its return in a concept form at Jaguar Land Rover Tech Fest in September 2017, even finding its way into the guest list of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's royal wedding.
