One of the most iconic cars of all time, the Toyota Land Cruiser, will get a new generation 174bhp, 2.8-litre diesel engine and a six-speed automatic transmission in its latest avatar.
Keeping up with the time, the new Toyota Land Cruiser will be powered by a diesel engine which will deliver 174bhp of power and will be mated to a six-speed automatic gearbox. With this much needed combination the car will still remain one of the best go-anywhere SUVs available worldwide. This new powerplant will help the mighty Land Cruiser have nine percent better fuel efficiency without compromising on the ruggedness the land Cruiser is known for. The new engine will be replacing the existing 3-litre engine.
The 2,755cc engine will provide more torque than needed by delivering 420Nm between 1,400 and 2,400rpm.The automatic version will provide 450Nm between 1,600 and 2,400rpm. After a long time Toyota Land Cruiser will be made available in five-door /seven-seat Active version too. With the introduction of the new engine Toyota will also increase the Land Cruiser range with the five-door version which will be available in either manual or automatic transmission. The three-door/five-seat Land Cruiser Active variant will remain intact and will be available only with manual transmission.
The new Land Cruiser will also provide impeccable safety to its occupants with some of the optional packs. Features like Adaptive Cruise Control and Pre-Crash Safety system; Lane Change Assist; Rear Cross Traffic Alert; Blind Spot Monitor; and a Multi-Terrain Monitor, which will give a 360-degree view of the vehicle’s immediate surroundings will make sure you are protected from all sides in every situation.
