The existing line-up of the Mini Cooper cars was extended recently by introducing three new variants of its Clubman series – Cooper Clubman, Cooper D Clubman and Cooper S Clubman.
The Mini family has been joined by three new Clubman models. The new five-seater models will carry on the legacy of the three-door and five-door Mini Cooper hatchbacks that received huge successes across the globe.
Where the Mini Cooper Clubman is powered by a 1,499cc, three-cylinder petrol engine delivering 136bhp, the Cooper S Clubman is propelled by a 1,998cc, four-cylinder petrol engine delivering 192horses, and the only diesel car here is the Cooper D Clubman which has a 1,995cc, four-cylinder engine which delivers 150bhp of maximum power and 330Nm of massive torque.
The new Clubman is bigger and beefier than the previous generation Clubman. The new Clubman is not only 270mm longer and 73mm wider, but also has 100mm longer wheelbase which will simply mean much better stability around the corners. The boot has a capacity of 360 litres which, once the seats are folded, can be increased to 1,250 litres.
The new Clubman will have the new eight-speed Steptronic transmission which is also available as an option on the S Clubman and D Clubman variants. These new Clubman cars are also equipped with Mini’s latest TwinPower Turbo Technology which help these cars to have minimal emissions. The bookings have commenced in the United Kingdom and we expect these versions to reach the Indian shores too sometime soon in the future.
