The Italian manufacturer of supercars seems to have outdone themselves yet again. If you thought the LaFerrari was outrageously awesome, well then you better hold on to your hats, because Ferrari have just revealed an even more ridiculously awesome version of the LaFerrari and this time it is called the FXX K.
Ferrari is calling the FXX K a laboratory car, mainly because the car is unfettered by homologation and racing regulations, and will never be used in competition. It was, in fact, developed to be completely uncompromising, incorporating technological innovations that will guarantee an unprecedented driving experience to the exclusive group of Client-Test Drivers with whom the Prancing Horse will roll out a test programme over the coming two years. That essentially means that if you aren't a ultra rich Ferrari fan, you will never be able to drive this car.
The car’s enormous potential is attested to by two significant figures, which are 847bhp delivered by its conventional V12 engine and 187bhp by its electric motor for a total of 1,034bhp, and a maximum torque in excess of 900 Nm.
The K in the FXX K stands for KERS system which the car will use, and this HY-KERS system has been evolved specifically for pure performance with the result that the driver can control the function logics from the specific 4-setting Manettino on the centre console. The FXX K’s 6,262 cc V12 has also been re-engineered and features new camshafts and a modified valve train with mechanical rather than hydraulic tappets - and all other sorts of tweaks and new components.
The car looks similar to the LaFerrri but you can clearly make out the obvious changes such as the twin-profile spoiler and a larger splitter, which is 30 mm lower than the standard one. On the side profile we see new side skirts, while at the back the tail section is now higher and features a mobile spoiler with a small wing on each side.
