Tata claims to have already sold over 85,000 units of the Zest nationwide.
Tata Motors has launched a special edition of the Zest compact sedan called the Zest Premio. Priced at Rs. 7.53 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi), the Zest Premio is only available with a diesel engine option.
Of late, Tata has shifted its promotional focus on the more modern and competitively priced Tigor. Therefore, we haven’t seen much attention being paid to the older Zest since then. However, the Premio special edition is claimed to have a host of new features to make the Zest better valued.
The Zest Premio debuts with new features like dual tone roof in glossy black, piano black hued outside mirrors on the exterior and tan-finished mid pad on the dashboard. Additionally, two new exterior colours, Titanium Grey and Platinum Silver, have been introduced. On the infotainment front, Tata’s ConnectNext touchscreen system, developed with Harman, comes as standard.
Furthermore, the exterior appearance is enhanced with smoked, multi-reflector headlamps and a piano-black hood strip at the front to accompany the dual-tone bumper. At the rear, a piano-black boot lid garnish complements the Premio special edition badge. The wheel covers have a new finish, and buyers can also add a piano-black spoiler as an optional accessory.
Under the hood, the Premio continues with the same engine as the standard Zest diesel, which is a Fiat-sourced 1.3-litre, 4-cylinder motor putting out 74bhp of power and 190Nm of torque. The engine is paired to a 5-speed manual transmission.
Tata has not disclosed the number of units of the special edition Zest Premio that will be produced. The car has been put on sale from March 1, 2018, and can be purchased from any authorised Tata dealer across India.
