Tiago NRG will be Tata's third CNG offering, after the Tiago and Tigor.
Tata Motors has confirmed the upcoming launch of the Tiago NRG iCNG via its social media handles. A 1.2-litre petrol engine will power the CNG version of the hatchback and produce 72bhp and 95Nm of peak torque. For CNG variants, the company will keep a 5-speed manual as the sole transmission option.
In terms of features, the Tiago NRG iCNG is most likely to mimic the Tiago iCNG. So, the presence of features like a rear park assist sensor, support for Apple CarPlay / Android Auto, and a Harman-powered four-speaker audio system can be expected. It is speculated that Tata may also launch the XT and fully-loaded XZ+ variants with the green fuel option.
The Tiago NRG iCNG will get a considerable price hike. While the pricing of the Tata Tiago iCNG begins from ₹6.3 lakh for the standard XE trim, one can expect the Tiago NRG iCNG's starting price to go as high as ₹6.6 lakh and ₹7.05 lakh for the XM and XT trims, respectively. In short, the CNG variants of the Tiago NRG may cost up to ₹90,000 more than their petrol counterparts.
