Tata Motors has commenced customer deliveries of the Tata Tiago EV. According to the firm, the electric car accumulated 10,000 orders on the day when its bookings started in India. With 2,000 units delivered in the first batch across 133 locations, Tata Motors further reveals that it has received over 20,000 bookings of the EV to this date. The Tiago EV's cost ranges between Rs 8.49 and Rs 11.79 lakh (ex-showroom, India). The carmaker announced at the time of the electric hatchback's launch that the introductory prices would only be available for the first 10,000 bookings. Interestingly, Tata has extended introductory prices for more additional 10,000 clients, considering the market response. The manufacturer claims that the electric hatchback is the first in its segment to come with connected features as standard across all the variants.

Sharing his viewpoint on the love and faith of clients for the electric hatchback, Vivek Srivatsa, Head of Marketing, Sales and Service Strategy at Tata Passenger Electric Mobility Ltd., said, "The launch of the Tiago.ev was aimed at accelerating the adoption of EVs by democratising the Indian EV market and we are happy to announce that we are on the right path with this product, with cars retailed across 133 cities on the back of a robust sales network.''

He further added ''The sheer trust in this brand has led to the success we are celebrating today. With a 38.6% growth YoY in EVs (as of January 2023), we remain committed to our vision of providing customers with the best, helping make EVs accessible to all.''

The Tiago EV comes equipped with two battery packs - a 12.2 kWh and a 24 kWh. Its larger battery produces 73bhp and 114Nm, while the smaller battery generates 60bhp and 110Nm. The entry-level Tiago EV models have a lower battery pack, which gives them an MIDC range of 250 kilometre, whereas the higher trims have a bigger battery pack, which offers them a 315 kilometre MIDC range. Both battery packs can be charged from 10% to 80% in 57 minutes by using a 50kW fast charger.
