Tata Tiago EV Crosses 50,000 Unit Sales Milestone Since India Launch in 2022
The Tiago EV is Tata's most affordable electric vehicle in India, ranging from Rs 7.99 lakh and Rs 11.49 lakh (ex-showroom).
The Tiago EV, the four-door electric hatchback from Mumbai-based Tata Motors, has crossed the 50,000-unit sales milestone in the Indian EV market. Launched in September 2022, the Tata Tiago EV has taken nearly 2 years to record the same. The hatchback is the carmaker's most affordable electric vehicle in India. Despite the onslaught of the Citroen eC3 and the MG Comet EV last year, the Tiago EV continues to be popular among EV buyers.
The Tiago EV gets two battery options – 19.2kWh (Medium Range) and 24kWh (Long Range). The former powers a 60bhp electric motor and has a claimed range of 250km, while the latter powers a 74bhp motor and claims a 315km range on a single charge. Also up for offer are two drive modes: City and Sport. Interested buyers can choose from the following colour options – Daytona Grey, Tropical Mist, Pristine White, Signature Teal Blue, and Midnight Plum.

Tata Tiago EV: Charging Capabilities
The Tiago EV takes 57 minutes (claimed) to charge to 80 per cent from 10 per cent, with a DC fast charger. Tata also offers a 3.3kW AC wallbox charger as standard as well as an optional 7.2kW AC fast charger. Using the 3.3kW wallbox charger, the medium-range and long-range versions can be fully charged from 10 to 100 per cent in 5.1 hours and 6.4 hours, respectively. The 7.2kW charger can charge the medium-range version in 2.6 hours but takes 3.6 hours to charge the long-range variant.
Tata Tiago EV: Features
A 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system, Android Auto/Apple CarPlay connectivity, an 8-speaker Harman sound system, automatic climate control, and electric ORVMs form part of the features list. For safety, the EV comes with rain-sensing wipers, two front airbags, a rearview camera, cruise control, a tyre pressure monitoring system, and ABS with EBD. The Tiago EV comes in 4 variants: XE, XT, XZ+, and XZ+ LUX.

Price-wise, the Tiago EV falls between Rs 7.99 lakh and Rs 11.49 lakh (ex-showroom). It goes against the Tata Tigor EV, MG Comet EV, and the Citroen eC3 in the segment.
