Tata Sierra EV to Launch in Late 2025 in India
The Tata Sierra EV is expected to ride on the company's acti.ev architecture that underpins the Curvv EV and the Punch EV.
Tata Motors recently announced at its investors' meet that the much-anticipated Sierra SUV will be launched in the second half of the next year in India. Tata will offer the SUV in both ICE (internal combustion engine) and electric versions. The latter will debut first, while the former is expected to go on sale a month after the Sierra EV's introduction. Showcased as a concept looking near-production ready almost two years ago, the Tata Sierra EV is expected to ride on Tata's acti.ev architecture that underpins the Curvv EV and the Punch EV; however, the Sierra EV first showcased at Auto Expo 2020 was built on the Altroz’s ALFA platform. It was 4,150mm long and featured a 2,450mm-long wheelbase.

As for the ICE, Tata could use its all-new ATLAS (Adaptive Tech Forward Lifestyle Architecture) platform, which forms the basis for the Curvv coupe-SUV. The platform supports multiple engine options, including two turbo-petrol and a diesel engine.
Tata Sierra EV: Powertrain
The Tata Sierra EV will likely come with a single-motor arrangement, drawing power from 45kWh and 55kWh battery packs. Range and power outputs shall vary depending on the battery. They could go up to 550km on a single charge. Expect the electric vehicle to offer DC fast charging support.
The ICE version, on the other hand, should get a 1.5-litre four-cylinder turbo-petrol engine under its hood. We also expect the Harrier-borrowed diesel powertrain to be offered.
Tata Sierra EV: Features
The Sierra EV's design is expected to blend modern elements with iconic styling cues from the original Sierra (1991-2003). Features-wise, the electric SUV will likely be equipped with a panoramic sunroof, connected car technology, dual digital displays, ventilated front seats, an advanced driver assistance system (ADAS), and six airbags. It could also offer Vehicle to Load (V2L) and Vehicle to Vehicle (V2V) technologies.
