The Safari has been getting some attention from its makers lately. Tata launched its flagship SUV in a new Gold trim level and now the manufacturer has updated the mid-spec variants with additional features.
Tata recently launched the Gold variants – white gold and black gold – of its flagship SUV, the Safari. Now, the manufacturer has updated the XT and the XZ variant of the Safari with some additional features.
The new features in the mid-spec XT and XZ include wireless smartphone charging, wireless Apple Carplay and Android Auto. The company has also added an air purifier to the mix in both the XT and XZ variants. There are no other changes to the features list, and cosmetically, the Safari continues to be the same as before.
The addition of these new features has bumped up the price of the XT and the XZ variant of the Safari by Rs 5,000-7,000.

Tata Safari XT - Rs 18.06 lakh
Tata Safari XT+ - Rs 18.86 lakh
Tata Safari XZ - Rs 19.81 lakh
Tata Safari XZ+ (6-seater) - Rs 20.50 lakh
Tata Safari XZ+ - Rs 20.65 lakh
Tata Safari XZ+ (6-seater) Adventure - Rs 20.71 lakh
Tata Safari XZ+ Adventure - Rs 20.86 lakh
Mechanically, the Safari continues with its 2.0-litre FCA sourced turbo diesel engine that puts 168bhp and 350Nm torque, The gearbox options are a six-speed manual and a six-speed torque converter automatic.
The Tata Safari rivals the likes of MG Hector Plus, Hyundai Alcazar and even the Toyota Innova in some cases. The Mahindra XUV700 that is expected to be launched anytime soon will be positioned alongside the Tata Safari as well.
