A camouflaged Tata Safari Facelift test mule has been spotted ahead of the launch in India. The SUV was caught on camera, with several cosmetic improvements. According to the spy shots, the Tata Harrier EV concept revealed at the Auto Expo 2023 seems to be the inspiration for the upcoming Safari. Compared to the current model, the upcoming Tata Safari gets many new features. Outside, the model now has a sleek grille design and revised headlamps. The SUV has an LED light bar that extends from the end. Furthermore, it will have a new front bumper, similar to the electric Harrier. The 5-spoke alloy wheels also feature a modern design and a black finish. On the sides, the Safari will retain the pull-type door handles and a stepped-up roof design found in the standard model. At the rear, the model will now sport reworked LED tail lamps. Now, a connecting strip will join the centre of the tail lamps.
For now, details regarding the changes inside the cabin have not been revealed. However, the carmaker will offer a new touchscreen unit, a digital instrument cluster, and a 360-degree camera on the inside. Mechanically speaking, the new 1.5-litre 4-cylinder turbo petrol engine for the Tata Safari will offer 168bhp and 280Nm. According to reports, the Tata Harrier is also anticipated to adopt this engine. The 2.0-litre diesel engine, which complies with the upcoming BS6 norms, is likely to be on offer as well.
