Tata Safari Facelift Deliveries Commence in India, Price Starts at Rs 16.19 Lakh

The deliveries of the recently launched Safari facelift from Tata Motors have begun across the nation. Boasting a new look and contemporary amenities, the mid-size 3-row SUV comes in four broad variants: Smart, Pure, Adventure, and Accomplished.

A few weeks ago, Tata Motors launched the revamped and redesigned Tata Safari and Harrier facelifts in the country. The Safari SUV ranges from Rs 16.29 lakh to Rs 27.34 lakh (ex-showroom). Bookings for the model commenced on October 6 and are still underway for a token amount of Rs 25,000 on both the brand's official website and Tata Motors dealerships. Recently, deliveries for the Safari facelift commenced nationwide. With fresh aesthetics and modern conveniences, the mid-size 3-row SUV is available in four variants – Smart, Pure, Adventure, and Accomplished. Here's the lowdown on different aspects of the model.

Tata Safari Facelift: Exterior Appearance

While the new Safari retains the overall dimensions and shape of the previous version, it comes with a thorough update. The front has a reworked bumper, a skid plate, vertically oriented LED headlights, a slimmer grille, and a connected DRL arrangement. Apart from the ‘Safari’ badging on the front doors and new 19-inch alloy wheels, the side profile remains unchanged. Both the front and the rear have a similar design. The bumper and boot lip have been revised, and the taillights are now connected. The rear Safari logo has been enlarged. The new SUV is now offered in three additional colours: Lunar Slate, Supernova Copper, and Cosmic Gold.

Tata Safari Facelift: Powertrain and Mileage

The Tata Safari's 2.0-litre four-cylinder diesel engine continues to be mated to either a 6-speed torque converter automatic transmission or a 6-speed manual transmission. The engine makes 168bhp and 350Nm of torque. It also features driving and traction modes. The SUV's claimed fuel efficiency is 14.50km/l for the automatic transmission and 16.30km/l for the manual transmission.

The cabin is more or less similar to that of the Harrier. Like the latter, it gets either a 10.25- or a 12.3-inch touchscreen, depending on the trim. Other features include a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster, a 10-speaker JBL-tuned sound system, a new four-spoke steering wheel with a backlit Tata Motors logo, ventilated first and second-row seats, a new drive selector for automatic variants, a panoramic sunroof, a touch-based panel for the HVAC controls, 360-degree camera, a rotary knob for the drive selector with a digital display, rear window shades, dual-zone climate control, and more.

Tata Safari Facelift: Safety

The new Tata Safari and Harrier SUVs have received a perfect 5-star Global NCAP rating for both adult and child occupant safety. The SUV comes standard with features like Electronic Stability Control, three-point seat belts with reminders for all occupants, six airbags, ABS with EBD, ISOFIX Child Seat Mounts, and hill hold control. The higher-spec variants get an additional driver knee airbag. Moreover, the Adventure+ A, Accomplished+, and Accomplished+ Dark models come standard with the Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS).

Tata Safari Facelift: Rival Models

The facelifted Tata Safari continues to compete with the MG Hector Plus, the Scorpio N, the Hyundai Alcazar, and the seven-seat variant of the Mahindra XUV700.
