Tata Motors has launched the Punch CNG with prices ranging from Rs 7.10 lakh to Rs 9.68 lakh (ex-showroom) for the top-end model. The Punch CNG is offered in three distinct trim levels: Pure, Adventure, and Accomplished, with the latter two also including the same available packages as the standard Punch. However, the Creative, Tata's highest trim level, does not come with the CNG kit. After the Tiago and the Tigor, this is the fourth vehicle that Tata offers as a compressed natural gas option. The Tata Punch CNG, the company's second model to get the twin-cylinder technology, will debut at the 2023 Auto Expo and go on sale later this month. Tata Motors has not yet officially begun taking bookings for the vehicle in question. The good news is that the model is now trickling into Tata showrooms.
Tata Punch CNG: Engine & Price
The company's popular micro-SUV has seen a number of revisions, both mechanical and cosmetic, including an expanded feature set. The Punch iCNG's mechanical features begin with a 1.2-litre, 3-cylinder engine that produces 84.82bhp and 113Nm of torque in its petrol configuration. The power for the CNG model is 75.94bhp, while the torque is 97Nm. A five-speed automatic gearbox complements the CNG engine.
Tata Punch iCNG Variants | Price (Ex-Showroom) |
Pure | Rs 7,09,900 |
Adventure | Rs 7,84,900 |
Adventure Rhythm | Rs 8,19,900 |
Accomplished | Rs 8,84,900 |
Accomplished Dazzle S | Rs 9,67,900 |
With the twin cylinders installed below the luggage area, it now has the safest solution possible, since the load floor shields the valves and pipes from any potential harm. The Punch iCNG has improved safety in the event of a rear-end collision thanks to its reinforced rear body structure and 6-point attachment system for the CNG tanks. It is important to highlight that the dual-cylinder layout of Tata Motors' iCNG cars sets them apart from the competition. To be more precise, it has two 30-litre cylinders rather than a single 60-litre cylinder.
The cutting-edge ALFA Architecture is the foundation of the Punch iCNG. Furthermore, it has additional safety measures including a microswitch that prevents the vehicle from starting while fueling. As a preventative step, thermal incident protection vents the engine's compressed natural gas supply into the atmosphere.
