With a slew of upgrades and a fresh take on look, Tata Motors' Punch EV is all the rage right now. Is the ICE-powered Punch going to undergo a transformation to compete with its electric counterparts? Tata's response—no redesign until mid-2025. Anticipating a mid-life facelift akin to the Punch EV, the ICE-powered Punch is set to embrace significant changes, with the launch now confirmed for the latter half of 2025, diverging from the initial expectations of an earlier release this year.
Tata Punch Facelift: What to Expect?
The much-anticipated Punch makeover, like to its electric sibling, will feature a revamped front end adorned with Tata's modern design characteristics. Just like the latest Tata Nexon upgrade, this one will feature a symphony of changes, including a new grille and LED daytime running lights with charming welcome and farewell animations. In a departure from the Punch EV, the updated model will prominently display an ICE variant's identity with a blacked-out grille.

Tata Punch Facelift: Expected Features
The highly-anticipated Tata Punch facelift, which will take design cues from the Punch EV, will bring a plethora of technological and safety-related improvements. You can expect a tech injection while it maintains its own character. This includes features like an air purifier, ventilated front seats, a fully digital driver's display, and a large 10.25-inch touchscreen. There will be a nice balance between new features and old favourites like automatic climate control, a sunroof, and cruise control.
Expect an upgraded safety package that has six airbags, a state-of-the-art 360-degree camera with blind spot monitoring, electronic stability control (ESC), and a TPMS, among other features, to put safety first. The Punch is about to impress with its unique design and technology, setting a new standard for micro SUVs in terms of safety and security.

Tata Punch Facelift: Expected Powertrains
With its 86.63bhp and 115Nm of torque, the 1.2-litre 3-cylinder petrol engine will remain intact in the next Tata Punch makeover. This engine may be paired with either a 5-speed manual or a 5-speed AMT, making it very flexible. The same engine, equipped with CNG, yields 72bhp and 103Nm of torque, exclusively with a 5-speed manual transmission. With an expected price of Rs 6 lakh, the updated Punch will take on the Hyundai Exter, Nissan Magnite, and Renault Kiger.
