Tata Motors has finally unveiled their much anticipated Punch EV electric SUV in India. A token amount of Rs 21,000 is required from interested parties and potential buyers to confirm their interest in this brand-new EV model. There is a lot of excitement surrounding the Punch EV because its price details are about to be revealed in the next few weeks. With five distinct variants to choose from—Smart, Smart+, Adventure, Empowered, and Empowered+—the Punch EV offers a wide range of choices to cater to the tastes of Indian buyers. Customers have a choice of nine eye-catching colour options, including four monotones and five dual-tones, to make it uniquely theirs. There are several eye-catching exterior colours available, including Seawood Green, Daytona Grey, Fearless Red, Pristine White, and Oxide.

Tata Punch.ev: Design

The Tata Punch EV looks very similar to the ICE version of the car, right down to the proportions, the silhouette, and the rear end. A narrow, full-width LED daytime running light suggestive of the Nexon EV is one of the most noticeable changes to the front design, though. A modern black sash-like element now connects the restyled LED projector headlights, and the charging port is now located beneath the Tata logo on the nose. The Punch EV's 16-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels and vertical slats on the front bumper improve its visual appeal.

One striking feature of the Punch EV is its all-new 10.25-inch infotainment screen, which is showcased by a layered dashboard design. A 10.25-inch full-digital instruments screen, which also functions as a navigation system is also included by Tata. The electric sunroof, 360-degree cameras, electronic parking brake with auto-hold functionality, air purifier, cornering fog lamps, auto-folding wing mirrors, electric sunroof, and wireless phone charging are all features that enhance the premium experience. Six airbags and an electronic stability programme (ESP) are standard on all Punch EVs, and the highest trim level adds a blind spot monitor, showing the vehicle's emphasis on safety.

Tata Punch.ev: Powertrain

Tata's new 'acti.ev' architecture will serve as the Punch's basis, but no technical information about the electric vehicle has been revealed at this time.  There will be two battery options to choose from, one with 25kWh and another with 35kWh. Both the Standard and Long Range versions include AC chargers, but the Long Range model supports DC fast charging and has a second 7.2kW AC charger. Depending on the model and battery specifications, the modular platform is designed to provide a range ranging from 300 km to 600 km.  We don't yet have the punch EV's complete power and torque specs, but we do know that it has multi-mode brake regeneration.

Tata Punch EV: Expected Price

The Punch EV, which will sit between the Nexon EV and Tigor EV in Tata's electric vehicle lineup, is expected to cost between Rs 13 and 16 lakh (ex-showroom). Tata is expected to announce the Punch EV price details in the coming weeks.
