Tata Motors is expected to introduce the Punch CNG in India shortly. However, some online reports claim that this version's production has begun before its official launch. Upon release in our market, the Punch CNG will be a fierce competitor to the just-launched Hyundai Exter CNG variant. Further, it will expand the CNG lineup of the firm by becoming the fourth model to gain the CNG powertrain after the Altroz, the Tiago, and the Tigor. The SUV's petrol models range in price from Rs 5.99 lakh to Rs 9.52 lakh, ex-showroom. In comparison to its petrol companions, the CNG version will cost about Rs 1 lakh more when it goes on sale in India. Here are some further details about this CNG variant that is anticipated to roll on our streets anytime soon.

Expect no changes in terms of design, inside or out. The only difference between the CNG version of the SUV and its petrol counterparts will be the addition of the i-CNG badge to the tailboard.
Tata Punch CNG: Engine & More Specs
Mechanically speaking, the CNG model will have the same 1.2-litre, three-cylinder motor that powers its petrol siblings. In the petrol mode, this motor generates 85bhp and 113Nm. However, with CNG, this engine will produce 76bhp and 97Nm. There is no official confirmation, but several market reports reveal that the automaker may offer the Tata Punch CNG in different variants.
Aside from this, the company's dual-cylinder CNG technology will be available for the Tata Punch CNG. The company has addressed the issue of the model's boot room with the installation of this dual-cylinder technology. This dual-cylinder configuration claims the division of a 60-litre tank into two 30-litre cylinders. Both will be placed beneath the boot floor, leaving plenty of room for storage.
