The Tata Nexon MX+ (S) variant comes with additional features and will be available in both petrol and diesel avatars.
Tata Motors has introduced a new variant in the Nexon portfolio. The new XM+(S) trim variant will be placed between the XM (S) and the XZ+, with a string price of Rs. 9.75 lakhs (ex-showroom, Delhi).
Available in Calgary White, Daytona Grey, Flame Red, and Foliage Green colour options, the Nexon XM+(S) will come equipped with an electric sunroof, a 7" floating infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple Car Play, a 4-speaker system, a cooled glove box, rear AC vents, rain-sensing wipers, auto headlamps, a digital instrument cluster, multi-drive modes, a 12 V rear power socket, and a shark-fin antenna.
The new variant of the Tata Nexon comes in both petrol and diesel engine options. The 1.2-litre turbocharged petrol engine generates 118bhp at 5,500rpm and 170Nm of torque at 1,750rpm. On the other hand, the 1.5-litre diesel engine produces 108bhp at 4,000rpm and 260Nm of torque at 1,500rpm. The transmission options include a six-speed manual gearbox and an optional AMT unit.
The Tata Nexon has proved to be a worthy contender in the hotly-contested compact SUV segment in India. Tata Motors recently announced a price hike for the car. While the diesel XM(S) variants became dearer by Rs 15,000, all other variants saw a uniform hike of Rs 5,000. The price for the car now falls between Rs 7.60 lakh and 13.95 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). In India, the Nexon takes on some of the most popular badges, including the Maruti Suzuki Brezza, Hyundai Venue, and Kia Sonet.
