Following its announcement of a price hike across the entire passenger range with effect from July 17, Tata Motors has increased the price of the Nexon SUV in the country. One of the best-selling compact SUVs in India has witnessed a price increase of up to Rs 20,000. For your reference, the Tata Nexon retailed between Rs 7.80 lakh and Rs 14.30 lakh (prior to the hike). And now, the XE variant of the Nexon costs Rs 7.99 lakh as it has received a maximum hike of Rs 20,000. Prices are ex-showroom. Those looking to buy the XMA+(S) diesel variant have to shell out Rs 5,000 more, the ex-showroom price of which is now Rs 10.64 lakh. Meanwhile, prices of variants, other than XM+(S), XMA+(S), XZ+ Kaziranga, XZ+ Lux Kaziranga, XM diesel, XM(S) diesel, XMA(S) diesel, XZ+ Lux diesel Kaziranga, XZA+ Lux diesel Kaziranga, XZ+ Luxs Jet, XZ+ Luxs diesel Jet, XZA+ Luxs Jet, and XZA+ Luxs diesel Jet, have gone up by Rs 10,000. According to the company, the ongoing effects of earlier frictions in input costs necessitated this price increase.

Tata Nexon SUV: Powertrain
Under the hood, the SUV gets two engine options: a 1.2-litre turbo petrol and a 1.5-litre diesel. The turbo petrol cranks out 118bhp of maximum power and 170Nm of peak torque. The diesel unit, on the other hand, delivers 108bhp and 260Nm. Transmission duties are carried out by a 6-speed manual and an optional AMT.

On the feature front, the Nexon comes with a flat-bottom steering wheel, a 7.0-inch infotainment system, a fully digital instrument cluster, Android Auto and Apple CarPlay connectivity, an air purifier, automatic climate control, cruise control, etc.
As far as safety goes, the SUV is equipped with dual front airbags, ABS with EBD, an electronic stability programme (ESP), a tyre pressure monitoring system (TPMS), a rear-view camera, rear parking sensors, and ISOFIX child-seat anchors. For those unaware, the Nexon SUV is the first Indian car to achieve a five-star safety rating in the Global NCAP crash test, and since 2018, the Tata Nexon has prioritised safety with a seatbelt reminder (as standard) for all occupants.
Tata Nexon SUV: Market Competition
In the Indian market, the Nexon is now available at a starting price of Rs 7.99 lakh and goes up to Rs 14.30 lakh. All prices are ex-showroom. In terms of rivalry, the Nexon is Tata's answer to the likes of the Maruti Suzuki Brezza, the Hyundai Venue, the Mahindra XUV400, the Kia Sonet, the Renault Kiger, etc.

Upcoming Tata Nexon Facelift: Details
As you are aware, the Nexon SUV has been a significant contributor to Tata's sales. And now, Tata is gearing up to launch the updated iteration of the Nexon SUV in 2023 in the Indian market. Test mules of the Nexon SUV have been spotted on several occasions, revealing an LED light bar, a fully digital instrument console, and new alloy wheels. Besides, the car is also making headlines owing to its current long waiting period that stretches up to 15 weeks in July.
