As part of its 2024 model year updates, Tata Motors has added three more variants to the facelifted Nexon SUV – Smart (O), Smart +, and Smart + S, priced at Rs 7.99 lakh, Rs 9.99 lakh, and Rs 10.59 lakh, respectively. The prices are ex-showroom. The first two are entry-level petrol and diesel variants of the compact SUV, whereas the third one sits between the Smart + S Diesel 6MT and the Pure Diesel 6MT (Rs 11.10 lakh, ex-showroom). This update comes a few days after Mahindra launched its new XUV 3XO, a close rival to the Tata Nexon, in India at Rs 7.49 lakh (ex-showroom). Compared to the base-spec XUV 3XO, the new Tata Nexon Smart (O) is expensive by Rs 50,000.
Moreover, Tata has slashed the prices of the petrol-engined Smart + and Smart + S variants by Rs 31,000 and Rs 41,000, respectively. Post the price revision, the Tata Nexon Smart + Petrol MT now costs Rs 8.89 lakh (ex-showroom), while the Smart + S Petrol MT demands Rs 9.39 lakh (ex-showroom).

Despite reducing the price, Tata Motors has managed to introduce a reverse camera feature on the Smart + Petrol 5MT variant of the Tata Nexon, which also comes with a 7.0-inch touchscreen and Android Auto and Apple CarPlay connectivity, among other features.
Tata Nexon New Variants: Features
The 7.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system is also available in the new base-spec Smart + diesel variant. This variant also gets a reverse camera, a shark fin antenna, a multi-function steering wheel, power windows, electrically adjustable outside rearview mirrors, and four speakers. In addition to what's offered with the Smart + diesel, the higher Smart+ S diesel version additionally gets auto headlamps, rain-sensing wipers, and a voice-assisted electric sunroof.
With the entry-level Smart (O) petrol variant, you get six airbags, ESP (electronic stability programme), drive modes (Eco, City, Sport), front power windows, reverse guiding sensors, and a two-spoke steering wheel with an illuminated logo, as well as LED headlamps and tail-lamps with daytime running lights (DRLs).
Tata Nexon New Variants: Powertrain
Under the hood, the new variants retain the same engine options: a 1.2-litre turbo-petrol and a 1.5-litre diesel. The former produces 118bhp and 170Nm of torque, whereas the latter makes 113bhp and 260Nm of torque. Transmission options include a 5-speed manual, a 6-speed manual, a 6-speed AMT, and a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic.

In the Indian market, the Tata Nexon competes with compact SUVs like the Mahindra XUV 3XO, Maruti Suzuki Brezza, Kia Sonet, Hyundai Venue, Renault Kiger, and Nissan Magnite.
